Bath, England - The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa

I recently took a day trip on the train from London to the quaint town of Bath, where I had a lovely afternoon tea outside in the garden at the Relais & Chateaux property, The Royal Crescent Hotel.

The hotel is located in the center of the world's most famous crescent and is decorated in elegant Georgian style.

We sat here in the private and peaceful acre of garden surrounded by a trail of lavender bushes underneath a blue sky:

The traditional afternoon tea service was absolutely delicious and included finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, delectably sweet pastries and even a local specialty: Bath buns.

The inside dining, bar and common areas of The Royal Crescent are beautifully and tastefully decorated, and the staff could not be any more attentive.

A very cool wallpaper in the hallway that leads to the loo ...

Perhaps the most spectacular feature of the hotel is their spa, which is housed in its own private building known as 'The Bath House'.

Enhanced by the use of natural woods, bamboo, pebbles and slate, this renowned spa also features a 12 meter relaxation pool that is heated to 32 degrees centigrade, and offers a wide range of treatments from massages to facials.

Here's a look at one of the hotel room suites with private balcony overlooking the garden:

The Royal Crescent Hotel is a wonderful escape from London city life and makes for an enjoyable day trip or weekend excursion.
